What a beautiful Darshan of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu! Happy Gaura Pūrnimā!
When you mention about the descending of the Name, I think I can relate to that.
11 years ago, still a bit broken, sad and confused about a divorce after 26 years of marriage, I was home alone, the children were gone on holidays with their dad, and I was facing the holidays ahead by myself. The thought of Nueva Vrajamanadala temple came to me. I had visited it many years earlier when a friend of mine was living there. I asked him if this ashram was still open, and he replied: "in two days there is a Holy Name Festival”.
That captured my mind. Two days later I was there, in the middle of nowhere, in the heart of rural Central Spain, near a small village ("...in every town and village...") , immersed in a Kirtan retreat, chanting the Holy Name for 4 days. I can recall experiencing pure joy, shedding tears of love instead of sadness, and feeling so complete, so at home, and very blessed. Perhaps the Name descended. All I knew is that afterward all I wanted was to return to another Kirtan retreat and keep chanting.
I met amazing and inspiring personalities there: Kadamba Kanana Swami, Sacidananada Swami; and others, and we all went to Madrid to chant on the streets. It was so ecstatic! They were ecstatic! And it was so wonderful seeing people joining us with so much delight! It was a procession of joy and love.
After this, I went back to another "Holy Name Festival" the following year, and then another, and another ... and I am no longer the same person I was. The Path of Love for God is so beautiful and perfect. He comes to us dancing and chanting, we follow Him as a child, and our lives are transformed in amazing ways.
Thank you so much for bringing to us His Presence, theology, Love, and Compassion in such a beautiful, and vivid way; leading us to encounter the apostle of Love in that marketplace in Bengal.
This is so wonderful. As I read, I hear the sounds of the old movies, Nimai of Nadia and Nilacale Mahaprabhu. But now the scenes has been brought to life in full color.
Check out this wonderful rendition of the poem here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS0Jx_K9KBY
